Aspire aims to spread positive achievements of prominent Bangladeshi’s in Canada & around the globe and provide networking opportunities for professionals and graduates. April 1, 2014: Maya Foundation’s upcoming Charity Ball event meeting took place in Toronto. Details will be posted soon upon confirmation. Attendees include Shaheynoor Talukder, Alvia Giash, Farhana Zaman, Kowsheek Mahmood & Tanvir Siddiqui.

 

March 28, 2014: Maya Foundation meeting up with local MPP Dipika Damerla at Constituency Office to discuss and implement possible local projects related to South Asian community and support each other through the process.

Maya-Jan-17Jan 17, 2014: Maya Foundation’s kickoff meeting took place in Mississauga to discuss activities and projects for the year. Updates will be posted periodically on both of our website and facebook page. Attendees include Shaheynoor Talukder, Kazi Faisal Hussain, Nafis Sifat, Farhana Zaman, Mo Karim, Tropa Chowdhury, Zia Mahmood, Taneem Ahmed, Shams Dewan & Tanvir Siddiqui.

 

 

Sept 23, 2013: Shirin (11 years old girl) has no vision in her left eye since 2011. Her mom is struggling with her younger brother after his father left them for another woman. They could not 2013-09-231get any operation done for not having a certain amount. Maya Foundation took her to the Ispahani Islamia Eye Hospital for Cataract and Retina operation. We also assisted Shumon (2.5 yrs old boy) who needed an expensive eye wear & Rahim (13 yrs old boy) who needed a Cataract operation. We pray for their vision so they can see our Beautiful World with their eyes.

 

2013-09-22On Sept 22, 2013: We forget fast what just happened few months back. Still there are people at Savar who are in dreadful condition, hence we aimed whatever we can to help them. We worked our Savar project with the fund we have raised from “Made in Bangladesh” Dhaka event. We aided 5 people with the medicine and assisted another 5 people building their stores so they become financially independent. I wish We had more fund then we could have lend our hand to more people. Thank you very much for all of your support and believing in us.

Sept 2, 2013: Maya Foundation distributed another portion of the fund at Nabinagar, Savar. Facebook4Today we provided treatment to another 10 victims and grants to 6 disabled victims. As promised, we will continue helping the people where people cannot reach. On behalf of the victims, Maya Foundation Thanks you for all your contributions. 2013-08-18Aug 18, 2013: Maya Foundation distributed portion of the funds raised from ‘Made in Bangladesh’ event in Toronto to the Rana plaza Savar victims. Along with the funds raised from Toronto, Maya Foundation also raised donations in Dhaka. We are happy to update you that we provided medicines to 8 victims who needed treatment. We also provided grants to 5 disabled victims which will be used for income generating activities that will assist them to become financially independent. We will be continuing providing assistance to the people who are still in need and who cannot reach to us. On behalf of these victims, Maya Foundation Thanks to each and everyone of you for your generous contributions. Please be proud and loud that your money is being well spent on a worthy cause.

July 29, 2013: Maya Foundation officially began the Savar rehabilitation project in Bangladesh with the funds raised from ‘Made in Bangladesh’ event. The Funds collected from the concert was $3,500, thanks to your generosity. Special Thanks to Shakti Foundation for helping and supporting us on the process.
